MASPETH — A Maspeth resident was arraigned Aug. 30 on charges of vehicular assault, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crime, reckless driving and reckless endangerment, the Queens district attorney’s office reported.

An eyewitness reported to an officer of the 104th Precinct that Daniel Freebes, 52, allegedly stuck a male on a motorcycle while driving his Chevrolet at the intersection of 60th Street and 56th Drive in Maspeth around 12:05 a.m. Aug. 29, the DA said.

Upon being struck, the man was thrown from the motorcycle, suffering bruises, bleeding, swelling, lacerations on his face and body, fractures in his ankle and foot and other injuries requiring knee surgery,...
