Labor Day may have marked the end of another spectacular season at the Douglass-Degraw Pool — but that doesn’t mean all the fun has gone down the drain.
Far from it.
Behold! We present our first annual “Hotties of the Double-D” Floatie Awards, a recognition of some of the good folks who have made this season the best ever at the once-endangered pool at Third Avenue and Nevins Street.
But first, some perspective.
It seems like only months ago when the city said that operating the pool didn’t fit in with its budgetary belt-tightening, that is until dedicated pool users — and this newspaper — battled to save the beloved watering hole.
